Pushing Back Darkness is a group of individuals who want to share the light, hope, joy, sights, sounds, fears and challenges of warring against the darkness of spiritual, emotional and physical poverty in Sierra Leone, West Africa, to you.

Beyond sharing our experiences, Pushing Back Darkness provides opportunities for you to sponsor orphaned children and women who have been rescued from sex trafficking.

Several times a year our teams travel to Sierra Leone.   Projects include building churches and schools, medical clinics, amputee fittings, micro-financing programs, economic development projects, and (our first love) orphan ministry.

With each team there is a designated blogger who spends time while in country blogging the sights and emotions of the children and beautiful people we work with.  Our hope is through these small vignettes of the struggles and joys of our West African friends, you will join us in Pushing Back Darkness.
